Mediation is
when a neutral third party facilitates a discussion of issues
between parties in conflict. This powerful process gives people an
opportunity to discuss their issues in a controlled environment and
often helps diffuse anger and clarify perspectives. The mediation
process allows the parties to keep control of the outcome vs. a
judge, supervisor or other decision maker imposing a decision. At
CMA, the goal of mediation is to reach a mutually acceptable
agreement while attempting to preserve and improve
a working relationship
between parties.
